Subtly Stunning

August 25th, 2011

We love this wedding! When Marisa came in, she clearly had a vision and all we had to do was play follow the leader. She chose to go with cafe ole dahlias galore, grape wood roots, super fun rentals and striking silver lanterns. The density of design placed upon these tables for a total of fifty two guests is quite striking, what’s not to love?? Special thanks to Emilie and Darlington House, Coast Catering, Concepts Event Design, Cake and Classic Party Rentals.

A Swing’n Estate Wedding

August 25th, 2011

OK, so maybe I’m a little bit biased because this is my big brother’s wedding but I think it was rather awesome. He chose to get married at a long time friend’s house, a beautiful estate in Beverly Hills. To fit all of their guests, my brother and his fiance had to cover the pool and get married upon it, placing the guest tables on what is normally the tennis court now carpeted of course. We were thrilled to work with Kenny and Steve of Classic Party Rentals and my brother and his team at Ultimate Lighting Solutions (did I mention has his own company doing event lighting at events like Giant, Electric Daisy Carnival and Sundance?). Also, very special thanks and appreciation to the one and only Kathryn Zaloga, my dear LA designer friend who came and helped us out that day.

Enjoy!

Well, when a coordinator gets married you know it’s going to be good. When a candy station master gets married you know it’s going to be sweet. And when the two unite, the result is ridiculously amazing!!

Kaitlyn and Nick Tie the Knot!

August 3rd, 2011

This wedding is particularly dear to our hearts. This is the wedding of Kaitlyn, one of our photo shoot darlings and a dear friend to OE and friends. So when Kaitlyn asked if we’d go to her home town of Huntington Beach, of course we said YES!

Kaitlyn chose purples and blues with touches of green, creating rich tones in rather unique design styles. Here are some pics to check out! Special thanks to Jen Likes for her fabulous wedding design and coordination and to Brightly Designed for their amazing paper magic, can’t wait to see the real pics by SheWanders!!

Sharon Celebrates 15 Years of Design!

August 2nd, 2011

The month of August always denotes a design anniversary for our fearless leader, Sharon, this time the number is 15! In 1996, Sharon began to design in a posh Beverly Hills Studio where she learned the tricks of the trade from the industry’s very best. The journey was a fun one that took her through California and Europe, eventually settling her in her beloved San Diego.

There was much to celebrate:

(That was a veggie burger even back then)

And though there were some struggles…

…she avoided getting eaten alive (We knew that one day this picture would be useful!!)

And, in the end…

Everything is just as it should be.

Beach Party Bingo!

Well, maybe not quite, but this wedding was a whole lot of fun with bright pops of color on Torrey Pines State Beach. We were thrilled to work with Luxe Special Events on this unique wedding, along with Concepts Event Design. Check out these unique touches that made Christel’s wedding truly hers!

A Cultivated Pardise

June 28th, 2011

Last weekend we had the unbelievable pleasure of working with an amazing team on a wedding that had our name written all over it! Enter Jenny of Luxe Special Events, she knew just how to design a vintage, garden style wedding at the beautiful Estancia in La Jolla. We accented their beautiful setting with matching garden florals outside and, later, brought the “outside in” with moss, flowers and mismatching containers upon Concept Event Design’s stunning linens. With dinner by the famous Chef Timothy Ralphs, cake by the national cake champions CAKE and music by the renowned Wayne Foster Entertainment, this is a night no one will soon forget. Professional pictures to come by True Photography but we just can’t wait to show you a few of ours, enjoy!
